xx baby2sweet xx asked:

i read somewhere that a lady had eaten yogurt only and drank water for about a month and she had lost 35 pounds. I was thinking about trying this for about 2 weeks to shed a few pounds quickly for an important event. After that i plan to maintain the weight loss by proper diet and exercise.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this, and would it be bad for me to eat just yogurt for 2 weeks?

Take a vitamin with it if you do it.

I haven’t tried it personally, but it doesn’t sound like if you did that diet your body would be getting all the essential vitamins and minerals etc that it needs.

i drank just smoothies (no sugar), vitamins, and oatmeal for a month and lost about 25 with exercise.. i don’t see why not, i would still just ask your doc. Cause i know there is something that fights bacteria in yogurt and i don’t know if eating too much may do something…

You can- but just for a couple of weeks. Take a supplement and make sure that it doesn’t irritate your bowels. Let me know how it goes!

Haven’t tried it, but it sounds extremely unhealthy and I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that.

In order to shed fat quickly, you should eat a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. Cut right down on all rice, bread, pasta, fries, chips, sweets – eliminate them completely for the best effect.

Now, at the same time eat lots of fish, meat, vegetables and fruits. It’s important to eat as much as you possibly want. Your main source of energy should come from root vegetables such as suede, turnip, parsnip.

If you can’t manage a dietry change that drastic, why not opt to eat 2 meals a day like that and the other as per normal? You will lose bodily fat quickly if you follow it properly.

doing anything like that would be dangerous. you will probably suffer from fatigue and your body needs certain things, even if it works it will probably make you so sick that you won’t want to eat anymore, which could lead to hospital. i know this sounds very far fetched but it nearly happened to me and now im having to gain the weight back on.i strongly say not to do it,just go on the gi diet thats probably the healthiest one to do

Yoghurt does not contain all the nutrients your body needs to function. This is a very unhealthy, and potentially dangerous, plan. There is no event important enough to compromise your health in this way, and I sincerely hope you have enough sense not to go down such a foolish path.

Start exercising sensibly, drinking plenty of water, and eating a balanced, nutritious diet now, and look forward to the long-term benefits.

RG was exactly right in his answer. I did that exact thing and lost 33 lbs in a week and never felt hungry. I wouldn’t suggest the yogurt thing because it won’t supply the right nutrients. However, when I have a sweet tooth it’s a great substitute for ice cream or other sweets. My personal favorites are Yoplait light – raspberry cheesecake, lemon meringue and boston cream pie…. Good luck and best wishes.

    RG 20 is right!

Take this into consideration also. Yogurt is a mold. Mold is a yeast. Too much mold or yeast is Candida. Candida is bad, very bad in your system. Once Candida is present in your system in abundance it is almost impossible to get rid of and causes everything from headaches, allergies, muscle aches and pains, digestive problems, gas and almost continuous vaginal discharges.
The woman who did that yogurt diet is more than likely full of
Candida and has wrecked her system and body for the rest of her life.
Yogurt is good now and then but nothing is ever good in abundance.
Everything in moderation, not too much and not too little.
    Stay on the middle road.

Yogurt obviously will not meet all your nutritional needs and anyone shedding 35 lbs in a month is taking a huge health risk. I encourage you to at least add some fruit and veggie options (even if it’s just fruit juice, which is more easily absorbable). Also there are yogurts that have added stuff to them, such as fruit or fiber, which would help. While doing this, I encourage you to chart out the vitamins and minerals you are consuming (off back of the package or best estimate if fruit). Here’s a nice little reference chart for you to compare to:
    Good Luck!
